Family displaced, one injured in Susquehanna Hotel fire

NORTHERN CAMBRIA - A family of four is displaced after a fire ripped through a building in Cambria County Sunday night. Fire crews said two adults and two children live inside of the building. One man was transported to the hospital to be treated for burns. The fire happened at the Susquehanna Hotel on Shawna Road in Northern Cambria around 10:30 p.m. The fire fully engulfed the building, and firefighters eventually had to evacuate the building due to the flames.

New Cambria Co. bar restaurant honors first responders and military

NANTY GLO, Pa. (WJAC) — There's a new bar restaurant in Nanty Glo. Its theme -- first responders and military. Heroes Tavern on McCoy Street opened its doors in December. It was originally known as the Little Wheel Tavern. Inside the restaurant there's an honor wall, with pictures of first responders. Owner Billy Ray is the mayor of Nanty Glo and also worked 25 years for the state police. He says he wanted to have a restaurant that would honor the men and women who help protect our country.

One man injured in propane explosion at Centre Hall home

CENTRE HALL -- One man is in the hospital after a propane cylinder exploded inside a home. It happened around 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday at 411 Pennsylvania Avenue. Centre Hall Assistant Fire Chief Barry Fisher says they were called for a house explosion involving a propane cylinder. He says there was no fire and it actually burned itself out. Fisher warned that there's "significant structural damage" to the house. He's asking all neighbors to stay away and caution tape will continue to be placed around the home.

Clearfield County prothonotary throws latest jab in dispute

CLEARFIELD - A back and forth dispute in Clearfield County saw another jab thrown Friday. Clearfield County Clerk of Court Brian Spencer responded to Warden Greg Collins letter where Collins said that Spencer has not contacted him in a professional manner to address concerns with the handling of court documents relating to the transfer of inmates and other court related matters. Spencer responded by saying that his deputy prothonotary did try to contact Collins by phone and left a message to discuss the concerns.

After his death, his family honored his request to have his brain donated for CTE research. Carlton Haselrig was married to his wife, Michelle Haselrig for 20 years before his death in July. He’s well-known across the region as the most decorated athlete in Pitt-Johnstown history and a former lineman for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Somerset puppies surrendered to humane society by breeder leaves families empty-handed

SOMERSET- Controversy is unfolding in Somerset County over two litters of German shepherd puppies, soon to be up for adoption at the Humane Society. Sixteen of the 22 puppies surrendered by the breeder already had families interested, or had put a deposit down. The Humane Society told 6 News that those families can put in an application, but it’s not guaranteed they will get a puppy. “We were all psyched and excited.
