Windber man, Johnstown business owner killed in weekend plane crash in Forest County

State police say a Windber man was reportedly killed over the weekend in a plane crash in Forest County. According to a report from PSP Marienville, the body of 59-year-old John Burley was reportedly found Friday night in the area of Buzzard Swamp Road in Jenks Township. Investigators say troopers were notified of reports of a suspected plane crash and an investigation led to the discovery of the crash site, where Burley was found deceased.

'Breaking Amish' star has preliminary hearing in DuBois

DUBOIS- "Breaking Amish" star Chapel Schmuker-Peace had a preliminary hearing at Magistrate Patrick Ford's office Friday. Friday's hearing stemmed from an undercover drug deal in January of 2015. Peace was recently charged for the 2015 incident in March, during a drug sweep in DuBois called 'Operation Ice Storm.' Peace is known for appearing on the first two seasons of 'Breaking Amish.' For the 2015 drug deal, Peace was charged with manufacture of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, and criminal conspiracy.

BLACKLICK TOWNSHIP, Pa. (WJAC) — A fire that ripped through a Blacklick Township home along Station Road Sunday night has been ruled arson, according to Nanty Glo Deputy Fire Chief Rich Brown. The house was a total loss, displacing the family of one of the fire department's own. Brown says the fire started on the first floor in the living room, with flames engulfing the first floor of the home and spreading to the second floor.
