WILLIAMSPORT, LYCOMING CO, (WOLF) — A man is facing charges of child sex crimes after an alleged assault at a city homeless shelter. The Williamsport Bureau of Police says that officers responded to the Family Promise Shelter in the 630 block of Hepburn Street on April 6th around 7:30 AM after receiving reports of a possible sexual assault of a child. Police reviewed surveillance video that showed Leo Johnny Ortega, 28, engaging in inappropriate contact with an 8-year-old boy.

ALTOONA, Pa. (WJAC) — Thousands of veterans visit Department of Veterans Affairs hospitals and outpatient clinics every year, but sometimes it's difficult just to get there. In our region, there are dozens of volunteer drivers to help veterans make their appointments, but the VA is looking for more people who are willing to give back. The VA has about 300 volunteers working in different areas. But officials said that, since services were expanded in the last year, they're looking for even more volunteers.

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (WJAC) — Just as an announcement from JC Penney comes that it is closing dozens of stores across the country, JC Penney in three area locations announced it is expanding. Monday, a hiring event was held at the Johnstown galleriaGalleria to help fill 70 hairstylist positions for its DuBois, Altoona and Johnstown stores. At the hiring event, applicants were also able to learn a few new skills that they'll be able to take with them no matter where the opportunity takes them.

(WJAC) — Copies of search warrants obtained by 6 News are providing new details about the state police investigation into alleged thefts from the Pennsylvania Lottery Commission in Blair and Centre Counties. Investigators say, on Wednesday, troopers searched a residence along West Blade Drive, in PA Furnace, Ferguson Township, where they reportedly seized "large amounts" of U.S. currency and a cell phone in connection to the alleged theft investigation.

PITTSBURGH (AP) — The Pittsburgh Steelers re-signed veteran safety Damontae Kazee to a two-year deal on Tuesday. The club also brought back tight end Zach Gentry on a one-year contract. Kazee played well for the Steelers in 2022 after missing the first half of the season because of a wrist injury. Comedian Bill Cosby is facing another sexual assault lawsuit. On Thursday, Victoria Valentino filed a civil lawsuit alleging that Cosby drugged and then raped her at a dinner party in 1969.
