About 7,000 people are expected to be attracted to Johnstown for two concerts at 1st Summit Arena on Friday and Saturday according to Marketing and Box Office Manager Chad Mearns..
Friday night Grammy nominated country artist Lee Brice is headlining a show at 1st Summit Arena, expecting a crowd of over 2,500 people.
Mearns said shortly after that concert ends, between 10 and 15 people are tasked with setting up the arena for the "biggest concert that we've had here in years."
Saturday night's concert is being called summer jam, starring Grammy nominated Ja Rule, and Grammy winning Ashanti.
Mearns said that show is expected to draw about 4,000 people to the city.
He said setting up for summer jam will go into Saturday afternoon.
"It's a very tight schedule. It's a very ambitious schedule, but we're going to pull it off and have some great entertainment for Johnstown this weekend," Mearns said.
Brice was not the only concert in Johnstown Friday night.
Johnstown native Eem Triplin hosted a free concert at People's Natural Gas Park celebrating his new album "Still Pretty."
