Steelers LB Kwon Alexander suffers season-ending injury vs Green Bay

For the second straight week, the Pittsburgh Steelers defense was able to "shut the door" on its opponent and seal the victory, however, both wins have come at a cost.

According to multiple reports, Steelers' inside linebacker Kwon Alexander is believed to have suffered a season-ending Achilles injury in Pittsburgh's 23-19 victory over the Green Bay Packers.

The nine year veteran exited Sunday's game in the first quarter.

Head coach Mike Tomlin told reporters after the game that Alexander was being evaluated but that his injury was "not promising."

Alexander, who previously played for Tampa Bay, New Orleans, San Francisco and the Jets, signed a one-year deal with the Steelers over the summer.

Pittsburgh's depth at inside linebacker is now wearing thin after losing both Alexander and Cole Holcomb to season-ending injuries in the past two games.

Veteran Elandon Roberts and second-year player Mark Robinson are the only healthy inside linebackers remaining on the team's active roster.
